When you receive your copy of the SUBJECT Magazine be very certain to read the NEWS AND VIEWS side as well as THE PARKS AND RECREATION side.
The Mayor consumes an entire page extolling the virtues of all the "activism, community involvement and the importance of democracy" regarding the residents' work to prevent the School Board from changing the school boundaries. Don't misunderstand, The Blogger feels this issue merits importance.
If Mayor Eisinger can see the value of activism, community involvement and the importance of democracy regarding that issue, why can she, Comm. deJesus and Curran NOT see those same attributes in the actions of our Cooper City residents who wish to make changes in our City, show concerns or speak out on behalf of other issues the residents feel need attention in our City?
Instead of recognizing the importance of activism, community involvement and the importance of democracy for ALL RESIDENTS, the Mayor and Comm. deJesus and Curran voted to REDUCE and CONTROL our freedom of speech at Commission Meetings!
They do not want to hear anything from the residents who wish to practice those virtues which the Mayor extolled in her lengthy article in THE NEWS AND VIEWS for the school board group.
The Blogger feels the Mayor chose the wrong format in which to publish those comments. Her article was perceived to be more political and self-serving than informing our residents of what is going on in our City's various departments and the departments' accomplishments and effects upon us.
