Seniors Council or Board requested at Jan. 26 Commission Meeting

Over the years,  Ms. Wilson requested the City Commissions to create a Seniors Council or Board, but no one acted upon the idea.   Cooper City Seniors should have an opportunity to have input regarding their recreation at the Community Center, bus routes and route changes, entertainment, trips, etc.

There are approximately 3,000 Seniors living in Cooper City and Ms. Wilson feels they should be properly represented regarding the activities which the City can  provide for them.  The Teens have had a Council for a number of years but for some reason, after several requests, the Seniors continue to be ignored.  Why?

Many Seniors come to Cooper City from various parts of the United States and still have families elsewhere.  Excellent ideas come to us from ELSEWHERE but there is no one here to listen.

Comm. Neal de Jesus announced at the end of the Commission Meeting that he would look into forming a Seniors Council or Board per my request.  Ms. Wilson advises the Seniors to compile their ideas and prepare to volunteer to be on the Council or Board.  The Blogger will keep you informed on the progress  of the Seniors Board or Council.
