Update on Susan Bernard, Cooper City 30 year employee Memorial

Past Commissioners and former City Manager Chris Farrell attended last night's Cooper City Commission Meeting to strongly   request that the Memorial Park adjoining City Hall be named in honor of Susan Bernard, City Clerk for 30 years, now deceased.

If anyone knew Ms. Bernard, these folks did.  Ms.  Wilson(former City Commissioner) knew Ms. Bernard from her many years as City Activist, from 1984!

So, CCCG Blogger says, if anyone knew Ms. Bernard, those attending last evening to express their  feelings  should take preference over any other requests.

A sitting City Commissioner now requests that the Ordinance stating the method of choosing a memorial be followed to the letter!  Another 30 days must pass before the location can be chosen!  This Commissioner wants input from the residents regarding a Memorial for Ms. Bernard.

So, in order to comply with this "order",  CCCG Blogger hereby requests that all who read this Blog AND their friends AND neighbors, please e-mail City Hall with their preference.  E-mail address is to:  SUSANP@COOPERCITY.ORG.(current City Clerk)

Hopefully, all readers will agree with Ms. Wilson, Mr. Farrell, past Commissioners and City  Employees, who were closest to Ms. Bernard,  that our Memorial Park be named in honor of Ms. Susan Bernard.  Please express your preference,  e-mail immediately  so all will be received and counted prior to the next Commission Meeting on Tuesday, February 9.
