Cooper City Residents Be Warned It is Budget Building Time

How many residents attended the Budget Workshop Meeting on Tuesday, April 20 at City Hall?  Hardly any!

Our prediction is:  taxes and fees will increase for  Budget Year 2010-'11 because the City Commissioners deJesus, Curran and Eisinger do not want to decrease spending for the next  year!

Mayor Eisinger and Commissioners deJesus and Curran want to construct a NEW City Hall BECAUSE:  the lovely quaint City Hall we now have does not reflect well on Cooper City!

TRANSLATION:  The Mayor wants to sell our present City Hall to the School Board so she can obtain Brownie points in her bid to run for a seat on the Broward County School Board!  AND have a new  City Mansion to reflect what deJesus, Curran and Eisinger  believe truly represents  the  image City of Cooper City!    We all know what happens when families purchase  homes  which are beyond their  financial means to maintain....,.foreclosure! ....bankruptcy!    It is not unknown for Cities to declare bankruptcy in these difficult economic times!

These difficult economic times have forced many  residents of Cooper City to tighten their belts.    Why can't the City Commissioners tighten their belts to operate this City in a more fiscally  responsible manner?  WE DO NOT NEED A NEW CITY HALL!

With the completion of  Monterra, the City will be built out!   WE WILL NOT NEED A NEW CITY HALL!

Cooper City residents must attend the City Commission Meetings and the Budget Workshops  to keep a tight rein on the Mayor, deJesus and Curran's spending of  our tax dollars!
We do NOT need higher taxes and higher fees, we NEED fiscal responsibility on the part of the City Commissioners and Administrators!   Attend those meetings, speak out and let them know how you feel about higher taxes and fees during these tough economic times!
