In the late 80's several children were severely injured or killed in Dade and Broward Counties by garbage collection trucks.
Cooper City has egress and ingress to three schools off 90th Avenue and very increased traffic due to the schools.
At that time, I talked with the City Manager and City Clerk and they agreed to my plan that all garbage collection trucks would remain off 90th Avenue until after 9 am!
Of course, this agreement is ignored on occasion and I have called the City Clerk's office to tell her of the infraction of the rule.
The City Clerk's Office made that telephone call to the Company and the rule was not broken again for a period of time but it always happens periodically.
This morning, the W/M bulk pickup truck was heading north on 90th Avenue at 8:25 am picking up! There was no bulk pickup in the late 80's but those trucks are just as lethal as the garbage pickup trucks!
Could you please call your W/M contact and remind them of the City's agreement to keep those trucks off 90th Avenue until after 9 am?
Thank you.
Gladys Wilson
