At a recent City Commission Meeting, the discussion was about constructing a NEW CITY HALL. Mayor Eisinger volunteered the best excuse I have ever heard for building a NEW CITY HALL in Cooper City. "This old City Hall and its location do not represent the vision I have for a Cooper City Hall!" Or words to that effect.
The current City Hall was well constructed and represents the type of architecture of the '70's in Cooper City. All the homes in this portion of Cooper City are of the same type of architecture: quaint Florida Homes built in the late '50's, 60's and '70's!
We, who live in these quaint Florida homes are proud of them and have maintained them well over the years and many were greatly improved with paint colors, landscaping, lovely trees, new roofs and appropriate additions.
Best of all, THE OCCUPANTS of these homes are the nicest folks you will ever want to meet. They are NEIGHBORS in the truest sense of the word. And, we all love our Cooper City, each in our own way and reason.
The schools which are located in our neighborhoods are the best. Those buildings also represent the construction of the era in which they were constructed. The school buildings fit into the area's unpretentious but proud ambiance.
If there are problems with East Cooper City being tacky or not quite up to the standards which the Mayor envisions as a location for her new City Hall, Then it is HER PROBLEM!
Code Enforcement has NOT met the standards which our East Cooper City residents expected over the years. Canvas signs hang on the steel fencing, , slap signs load up the main streets and intersections every weekend. The emergence of very large canvas Church signs throughout East Cooper City. The unreadable red lighted sign on City property on 90th Avenue now has canvas signs added to that mess for our viewing.
If the current City Hall is not large eenough, we suggest you rent space in one of the empty strip shopping centers. There are many from which to choose. Or, Mayor, you might give up your private, locked office at our City Hall and give it to someone who needs a private office with City provided computers, phones, etc.
Mayor, if the current City Hall doesn't meet your expectations at its present location, the residents are sorry but we feel it fits well in our area and we love it being right there.
We don't need a new City Hall built on Pine Island Road in Monterra or built anywhere else in this City.
Thank you, Mayor Eisinger, we will keep our quaint, old City Hall we have on 50th Place in East Cooper City! It does not have a mortgage!
Residents, go to Comments and tell us how you feel about the City constructing a new City Hall when they tell us the City has NO MONEY for anything we really do want .
