Mayor Eisinger's reason the City needs a NEW CITY HALL IN MONTERRA OR ELSEWHERE IN OUR CITY, was stated at a recent Commission Meeting: the current City Hall's location does not meet with her requirements and views of a City Hall.
First, Mayor, a new City Hall is not necessary. The old one is adequate.
Second, just why is the old City Hall's location NOT up to your standards?
Perhaps, I can clarify .
The residents do NOT feel the need for a new City Hall. We are proud of our current City Hall. It represents the dreams of the early Cooper City Administrators. We must be proud of the dreams and aspirations of those PIONEERING people!
The City, according to you, Mayor, has no money for a new City Hall!
The residents of "old" East Cooper City are proud of their home's locations. We bought our homes for many reasons: proximity to schools, to jobs, churches and synagogues, the City Buildings, the Golf Course, property values and no homeowner associations.
For many years we could view our City as a well maintained City. Police, Code Enforcement and Public Works took care of any "appearance" problems to which they were alerted. We depended upon them and they were a phone call away!
Indeed, times have changed. We now have Broward Sheriff's Office to take care of our Police and Code Enforcement requirements.
Over the years, to meet annual Budget requirements, the number of Public Works employees have been reduced to the point that the "skin is so taut it may explode". AND, over the past very few years, Cooper City's maintenance and Code needs have, understandably, taken a location at the bottom of the list! AND, over the years, Cooper City's Administrators have ignored our pleas to keep our East Cooper City in the special condition to which we were accustomed.
We have all been very proud of our City Parks. However, the Parks to which we can go for a kiddie party or a family picnic have taken back seat to the Sports Parks used by The Optimists for our children.
Driving through Cooper City, there are slap signs all over our streets and canvas signs hanging on fences and buildings. Trucks with huge lettering are parked at street sides, driveways and parking lots to advertise a product. There are City Codes to take care of those situations.
Political signs placed illegally throughout the City. Codes have been written to avoid that situation. Code was called 4 times over three weeks regarding three political signs placed at the edge of 90th Avenue and not removed
The lot west of Regions Bank on Griffin Road has been in horrid disrepair for too long. Political signs were placed on the property and, guess where they are now? Yep! Lying in the pile of brush and broken trees. Code has been called numerous times over the past year regarding this lot on Griffin Road.
The deteriorating appearance of East Cooper City SHOULD NOT BE A POLITICAL ISSUE. The neglect of East Cooper City should not give Mayor Eisinger the opportunity to dispose of our preciously quaint City Hall in favor of a Windsor Castle on Pine Island Road or any other location in Cooper City. Although she has sat on the dais for three terms, she has shown no particular concern for the growing problems in East Cooper City. In fact, she is taking advantage of our problems!
Please attend the September 13th and 27th Commission Meetings. Yes, they are on Mondays because of the Budget Hearings taking place in Broward County.
Our meetings start at 6 PM and usually over by 9 PM. These are important Budget Hearings for our City. Please attend.
