Yes, I know I told you the politics would get really dirty before election day, Nov. 2, and they are!
We all know this City is run by Mayor Eisinger in a very despotical manner. In other words, she wants to rule the roost! Sadly, she uses her peers and residents of Cooper City to do her dirty deeds! Peers and residents who know what she is doing but still happily do her bidding...so that puts them in the same big bucket of pig food!
In order for the Mayor to retain her control of our City Commission, she has her "special plants" running for District 1,
Commissioner John Sims seat.
Commissioner John Sims is the only Commissioner sitting up there who has been consistant with his votes. Consistantly voting "NO" on tax increases, the Fire Assessment/tax increases, and higher millage rates.
Commissioner Sims has worked diligently for the improvement of life in all of Cooper City. He has attempted to solve all problems which residents brought to him. And he worked hard to do that, too.
Commissioner Sims is the only one up there who works at a private industry job. Yet he takes the time and makes the effort to assist the residents. And, he succeeds!
He has become our "Go to" Commissioner! Commissioner John Sims deserves to be returned to his seat on November 2.
Of the three people running for his District 1 seat, one was fired from his last job because he was absent too much; the other one seems to be a fighter with two assault charges filed, and a long time friend of, guess who? The Mayor. The third person worked many years for "guess who?" the Mayor's brother-in-law, in the Mayor's sister's husband's business. Not a one of these folks have ever attended a Commission Meeting prior to the last couple months nor have they been on any Advisory Boards, or in any way visible and/or helpful to our residents but read their literature. You would think they know how to be a City Commissioner! Not!
Having spent my professional career hiring and firing folks, I certainly would not hire any one of the above mentioned three to work for me. So, why would we vote for them to represent and speak for us? We shouldn't!
As far as District 2 is concerned, Commissioner Mallozzi has been wound very tightly by the Mayor. When Comm. Mallozzi lets go with a tirade, she loses any sense of where she is, to whom she is talking and about whom she is ranting. Her rantings are very despicable and questionable as to veracity!
Commissioner Mallozzi voted "yes" on tax increases until this Budget of 2010-2011, she is running for re-election so let us see how she votes? She voted yes for the Cooper City residents' groups who use the Community Center to pay a $25.00 rental. And very recently asked at a Commission Meeting why the City was not renting the large room at the Community Center more often so it could help with City income. The truth is, no one can afford to rent it because of the already high prices charged for a three hour rental! She voted FOR the fire assessment/tax increases, too.
Comm. Mallozzi is on a Broward County Transit Committee of some sort and knew in January that the City's Shuttle Bus would be cancelled if riders per hour did not increase. The possible cancellation of the Shuttle Bus was never mentioned and discussed at a Commission Meeting so the residents could be made aware of the impending disaster which struck on July 8. But then, the Mayor did nothing as well. Nor did Parks and Recreation Director Ken Richardson!
David A. Nall, is running for the District 2 seat, a family man who has been active in Cooper City for years volunteering as a coach for the Optimists BUT is a financial officer for a large company and knows how to build a budget, adhere to a budget and precisely how a budget works. Comm. Mallozzi does not!
David Nall has no noose around his neck tied to the Mayor! We should vote for David A. Nall.
Cooper City residents deserve better than what is going on with the Mayor, her questionable mean attacks on Comm. Sims and others and the excessive City spending.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR TAXES AND FEES INCREASED, ATTEND THE MONDAY, SEPT. 13 AND MONDAY, SEPT. 27 COMMISSION MEETINGS AT 6 pm AND SUPPORT THOSE
WHO WILL SPEAK OR DO YOUR OWN SPEAKING. THE MAYOR AND COMMISSIONERS NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU, THE RESIDENTS.
