Mission Statement of The Cooper City Senior Citizen Advisory Board

Mission Statement of The Cooper City Senior Citizen Advisory Board:

To provide excellent services, activities and facilities to support a high quality  of life in Cooper City for our Senior Citizens.

Goals:

* With approximately 3,300 Senior Citizens living in Cooper City, it is vital to  enriching their lives by increasing  their   participation and attendance in the services and activities  held daily at the Community Center.

* Hire a full time Senior Coordinator to enthusiasticly come to work each day with the goal of enriching the lives of the attending Senior Citizens for that day and working closely with the Advisory Board.

* Re-establish the Cooper City Shuttle Bus Service in Cooper City. That is,  the daily schedule of bus routes  for all residents to utilize the bus throughout Cooper City.

* Return the Meals on Wheels Daily Lunch delivery to the Community Center.

* Increase the enthusiasm, zest and friendliness toward the Senior Citizens.

* Establish a monthly schedule of a variety of  services, activities, lectures, games and trips which delight the Senior Citizens and encourage them to all happily participate.

* Create activities around each holiday so they are reminded of the significance of the day and the pleasure one can  enjoy  that day.

Each and Every Senior Citizen should be invited to participate whenever possible so they are continually involved and not just there to participate.  Senior Citizens have many, many talents which they may not have used for  years.   Re-ignite those talents.

The membership of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board should be one-fifth over-60 folks, one-fifth in their fifties and the rest of  younger ages.  It is necessary  for the Advisory Board to bring excitement , talent and exuberance to the Board which would then be passed on to the Senior Citizens and their lives in Cooper City through The Board's establishing the new, exciting programs for growth in the Senior Citizen participation.

Absolutely NO politics should be involved in the selection of the Senior Citizen Advisory Board members.  This Board must devote itself entirely to the Senior Residents in Cooper City according to The Mission and Goals.
