A very alert Cooper City resident learned, this afternoon that Pembroke Pines has an am Radio Station which reaches from I-95 to the Everglades and from Griffin Road to the south border of Pembrok Pines. And, guess what? Cooper City is included in their span! Mayor Ortiz has what our Mayor would like to have and can't have!
The Mayor and Commissioners can follow Commissioner Sims suggestion, when it was suggested at Monday's Budget Hearing to remove the radio from the 2010 Budget, and use that $60,000 to restore the Cooper City Shuttle Bus which accomodated so many residents. It was cancelled on July 8th without any discussion by the Mayor, Comm. de Jesus, and Curran.
The consensus of Cooper City residents was: we do not need an am radio station. Don't lose sleep over it, unless the Mayor decides to purchase Pembroke Pines station from them! Think about that. After all, it is our money, not hers!
What do you think? Let us hear from you.
